Yeast dough pie
5 dl milk
1 egg
2 dl sugar
50 g yeast
about 1 kg wheat flour
150 - 200 g butter (soft)
(1 tsp cardamon)
Warm milk to body temperature. Add yeast and stir until
yeast is completely solved. Add sugar, egg and half of
the flour. Knead well. Add soft margarine and enough
flour to get dough that is no longer sticky. Knead well.
Let rest for half an hour. Knead well again and roll thin.
This dough is enough for two large pies. (I make my "pies"
in a brownie pan.) Spread with filling or jam of your
choice. Brush sides with egg and sprinkle coarse sugar on
top. Bake in 200 C oven for 30 minutes or until sides are
golden brown.
For measurement conversion, see FAQ for details, but
roughly 5 dl is 2 cups and 1 kg (1000 g) is 2,2 pounds
