1 cup sugar
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup milk
2 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
3 ( or 4) Sliced apples

Cream sugar, shortening and egg. Add milk and flour gradually. Add baking pow
der. Spread into cake pan. Slice apples and form layer over dough. Sprinkle w
ith mixture of sugar, butter and cinnamon. Bake about 35 minutes at 350 degree
s. Makes about 3 kuchin.
