Corn Bread With Fontina Cheese

1 1/2 cups fontina cheese -- cubed
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/4 cups cornmeal
4 1/2 teaspoons sugar
2 tablespoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups milk
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil
1. Heat the oven to 400 degress. Butter a 9 X 13 baking pan.
2. Cut the cheese into small cubes.
3. Combine the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt.
4. Beat together the milk, eggs and oil.
5. Combine the cheese cubes and the flour mixture.
6. Stir the egg mixture into the flour mixture and stir until just moistened -
the batter may still be lumpy.
7. Prepare into the prepared pan and bake until the edges start to come away fr
om the sides of the pan about 25 minutes.
8. Cut the bread into squares to serve.
