Chocolate Toffee Crescent Bars

8 Ounces Pillsbury Refrigerated Quick Crescent Dinn
2/3 Cup firmly packed brown sugar
2/3 Cup butter
1 Cup nut halves or chopped nuts (pecans)
1 Cup semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Pat separated crescent dough in ungreased 15" x 10" jelly roll pan.
Seal perforations.
In small saucepan combine sugar and butter and boil 1 minute. Pour evenly over
dough and sprinkle with nuts. Bake 14 to 18 minutes, until golden brown.
Remove from oven. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Bake 2 to3 minutes. Swirl
chocolate unevenly. Cool. Cut.
Note: Do NOT substitute margarine for the butter. My friend Regina made these
and they were wonderful. I gave the recipe to my mother and hers were at best
mediocre. I questioned her as to what she had changed and it was the
substitution of margarine for the butter.
