French Apple Pie Bars

Title: French Apple Pie Bars

Yield: 1 Servings
2 1/4 c Sifted flour; divided
1 ts Salt
3/4 c Shortening
4 tb To 5 tbsp. water
4 c Sliced apples
1/2 c Brown sugar
1/4 ts Cinnamon
For crust: Combine 2 cups flour with salt. Cut in shortening until
mixture resembles particles like peas. Set aside one cup of mixture. Add
water to remaining mixture; stirring with a fork. Roll out to 14x10"
rectangle. Fit into 9x13" pan.
For filling: Combine apples with sugar and place over crust.
Combine cup of reserved mixture with brown sugar, 1/4 cup flour, and
cinnamon. Sprinkle over top.
Bake at 400 degrees F. for 35 to 40 minutes.
