OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

1 cup flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
3/4 cup shortening
1 1/3 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups oatmeal
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup pecans -- chopped

Sift together first 5 ingredients in mixing bowl. Add shortening, brown sugar,
eggs and vanilla and beat until smooth. Stir in oatmeal, chocolate chips and pe
cans. Drop onto greased baking pan and bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes
.
