Dandelion Wine (Easier)

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
2 Litres Dandelions .
1 1/2 Lb Sugar
4 Oranges
1 Gallon Water
Yeast And Nutrient
Don't forget, that the flowers should really be picked in sunshine or at
midday, so that the flowers are fully opened, and the making of the wine
should be done immediately.
Measure the yellow heads, discarding as much green as possible, bringing
the water to the boil in the meantime. Two litres of flower heads weigh
approximately 1 lb. Pour the boiling water over the flowers and leave
them for two days in a closely covered bucket. Again, be careful not to
exceed this time or a curious odour often invades and spoils what is a
most pleasant table wine, properly made. Boil the mixture for 10 minutes
with rough muslin over the sugar, stirring to dissolve it. When cool add
the yeast nutrient, fruit juice and yeast. Put into fermentation jar and
fit air-lock, and siphon off into clean bottles when the wine is
cleared. It will be just right for drinking within 6 months or earlier
if you are really impatient.
