Chocolate Refrigerator Ice Cream
Follow any base recipe above.Increase sugar to 2/3 c ; decrease vanilla to 1
teaspoon. Add 2 squares (2 oz) unsweetened chocolate, broken in pieces, to
the hot milk or custard mixture; blend with a beater until smooth.
Peppermint Refrigerator Ice Cream: Follow any base recipe above. Omit sugar
and vanilla, and add 1/4 pound of peppermint stick candy, finely crushed, to
the hot milk or custard mixture. Heat until the candy is dissolved and
proceed as directed.
Lemon Lotus Ice Cream: Follow any base recipe above. Cut 1 lemon, rind and
all, in very thin slices. Remove seeds and chop lemon coarsely. Cover with
an additional 1/2 c sugar and place over hot water until sugar is
dissolved. Add to the hot milk or custard mixture. Pour into refrigerator
tray and freeze as directed.
