Blackberry Sorbet

1 c water
1/2 c sugar
2/3 c orange juice
2 c blackberries -- or olallieberries
2 tbsp lime juice
Bring the water to a boil, stir in sugar, add orange juice, and simmer for 5 mi
nutes. Cool the syrup and chill in the refrigerator. Meanwhile, combine the b
erries and lime juice in a blender or food processor and puree. Do not overpro
cess. Mix the puree and syrup together thoroughly and freeze in an ice cream m
aker (at least 2 quart) according to the manufacturer's directions.
Note: Put the blackberry puree through a sieve to remove seeds before combinin
g with syrup, for a smoother sorbet.
